![]() The campground and facilities were clean, well maintained and comfortable. The staff was fantastic and completely guest focused. The mattresses are standard KOA Cabin mattresses (throw a Futon Mattress on it for extra comfort) and you bring your own bedding. The location is just outside of Grand Lake and minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park West Entrance (I saw 11 Moose, some Deer and a Black Bear all within 15 minutes of the campground). There is a store with ample camping supplies, clean bathrooms with individual showers, a game room, a TV room, outdoor sinks, a small dog park, outdoor grills, a basketball hoop and more. But, sitting on the patio of cabin 12, especially with the amazing night sky, was perfect for what I needed. The cabins in the first loop (cabins 5-10) offered a little more separation. Enough space between cabins to offer some privacy. The cabin was on the edge of the campground and I spent a great deal of time on the patio watching for Moose (a deer walked right through the campground much to everyone’s surprise one day). There was a grill, fire ring, picnic table and parking outside the cabin. It was a basic cabin with a Queen size bed and a bunk bed with single beds, corner shelves, a table with 4 chairs and a portable heater. I mentioned some of what was happening at home and the staff related and was very supportive. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly. I booked 3 nights in a cabin with the desire to get away and clear my head from family issues going on at home. This campground is new to the KOA family and a great addition.
